KENTURN Spindle Repair : Belt type machining center spindle KCA1410Z
Taper:BT40 Maximum RPM: 8000RPM/10000RPM
1. Remove the back cover, keep the radial set screws. (also remove the positioning blocks)
2. Stable the drawbar with an L shaped screwdriver, then remove the gripper (Counterclockwise; M6 or M8 tuner thread)
3. Remove the drawbar with a copper stick and mallet. (Round bar smaller than Ø16mm)
4. When installing a new drawbar, change the spindle in a vertical position.
5. Tighten the gripper (Clockwise direction)
6. Apply Loctite before tightening the cover screws. Then tighten the positioning blocks.

Drawbar Disc Spring Replacement:
1. Loosen the screws of the screw nut. (RH thread) Remove round copper in the screw nut. Then hold the drawbar with a fixture.
2. Remove the screw nut. Measure the length between the drawbar and screw nut using a depth gauge.<
3. Loosen the screws of the second screw nut, then remove it. (RH thread)
4. Apply grease lubricant on the new disc springs and the drawbar, install them per original arrangement.
5. Tighten the second screw nut (RH thread) to step 2’s measured length, then tighten the screws
6. Tighten the first screw nut. Put in round copper, apply Loctite before tightening the screws.

Replace the standard drawbar with the CTS drawbar:
1. Remove the back cover.
2. Stable the drawbar with an L shaped wrench(M6), then remove the gripper (Counter-clockwise)
3. Remove the drawbar with a copper stick and the plastic mallet.
4. Put on a CTS jig before installing the drawbar.
5. Tighten the gripper (Clockwise direction)
6. Apply Loctite before assemble the CTS connector, tighten the screws diagonally to adjust the accuracy of the inner bore.
    The accuracy of the inner bore has to be within 10 microns.
7. Apply Loctite before assemble the cylinder block, tighten the screws evenly. Measure the accuracy of the inner bore and the surface.
    Inner bore: within 10 microns/ surface: within 2 microns

Gripper replacement Same method for standard and CTS spindle:
1. Stable the drawbar with an L-shaped wrench(M6),
    use another L-shaped wrench(M6) to loosen the gripper (counter-clockwise direction)
2. For assembly: clockwise direction to tighten the gripper.
